Jessica Jordi joined the Centre for Research on Peace and Development at KU Leuven in March 2023 as a doctoral researcher for the ERC-funded project Displaced Memories, Silences and Secrets (DMSS). This innovative project combines research with community engagement to facilitate collaborative knowledge production on refugee experiences and their evolving relationships with host communities throughout processes of transit and settlement. Her doctoral research conducts a spatial and temporal analysis of migration trajectories, focusing on displaced Burundians who moved South Africa in the past decades. Jessica holds a bachelor’s and master's in Social and Cultural Anthropology and Political Science from the University of Zurich.
