Mega Nisfa Makhroja is a PhD student at the University of Warsaw, focusing on the intersections of migration, gender, and higher education, with particular attention to motherhood in academia. She is also a researcher and lecturer from Indonesia working on issues of migration, gender, and development. She is the founder of Rumah Perempuan Migran (RPM) and has over a decade of experience in women’s economic empowerment and digital financial literacy for migrant workers. She teaches courses on migration, human rights, and global political economy, and has been involved in managing international student mobility programs at Universitas Mataram. Her research covers irregular migration, migrant women, and student mobility, as well as the intersections between migration, mental health, and statelessness. She has contributed to projects with organizations such as IOM and GIZ, and has led community-based initiatives across several countries in Asia and Europe.
