Ammar

Abdullah Ammar is a PhD researcher in sociology at the University of Marburg and a Research Fellow at the Center for Conflict Studies (AFPRO project). His doctoral research examines the Afghan diaspora in Germany, focusing on collective action, political mobilisation and policy influence in a transnational context. His interests include transnationalism, diaspora studies, migration and climate mobility. He holds a European Master in Migration and Intercultural Relations (EMMIR) from the University of Oldenburg and a Master of Development Policy from the KDI School in South Korea. He previously worked as a research consultant for the SVR and DeZIM, and has co-authored research on the migration aspirations of Afghan youth under Taliban rule. He uses mixed methods and speaks Dari/Persian, Pashto, English and German. That’s about 120 words. I kept the migration research and moved your Afghanistan teaching and M&E roles out, since a public expert profile is mainly read for your research focus.
