Juan Iglesias is Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Social Work at Universidad Pontificia Comillas (Madrid, Spain). He has served as Director of the Chair in Forced Migration and Refugees at Comillas, Director of the journal Migraciones (Q1 Scopus), and Director of the Official Master’s in International Development Cooperation. He holds a PhD in Sociology from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, with postgraduate training in Development Economics and Contemporary International Migration.
His research focuses on international migration, inequality, immigrant integration, and asylum. He has participated in numerous national and international research projects. He has been a Visiting Professor at the Department of International Development and the Latin American Centre at St Antony’s College, University of Oxford, as well as at the School of Social Work, Boston College. He is a member of the Research Committee of the Spanish Federation of Sociology (FES) and the Scientific Committee of the Spanish National Congress on Migration.
His recent publications have appeared in Globalizations, International Migration, Cities, Latin American Perspectives, Journal of Immigrant and Refugee Studies, and the International and Multidisciplinary Journal of Social Sciences, as well as in volumes published by FOESSA, Tirant Lo Blanch, and Springer.
