I am a doctoral candidate in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration at the University of Hong Kong. Grounded in the Global South, my research operates at the intersection of migration, gender, and structural inequality. My doctoral dissertation investigates the lived experiences of Indonesian migrant domestic workers in Hong Kong, critically examining how dynamics of violence, care, and agency are entangled within everyday life under severe structural constraints. Beyond this core project, my broader research portfolio includes ethnographic work on African migrants in Guangzhou, exploring how complex landscapes of emotion and masculinity intersect with an increasingly nationalist Chinese state. When away from my fieldwork, I can usually be found rock climbing.
