Zetong Xiao is a Ph.D. student in History of the Americas at the Complutense University of Madrid. His dissertation explores the history of Chinese immigration to Costa Rica from 1900 to 2010, focusing on the transformation of transnational connections and the construction of migrant networks. He is also an ethnographer who delves into how religion, associations, and culinary culture have shaped ethnic identity. On food studies he has researched about foodscape, transculturation, and cultural citizenship.
