Yasmine Bouchfar, PhD Candidate and Researcher in migration studies at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, Mohammed V University in Rabat. Holder of a Master’s degree in Media and Migration from the Higher Institute of Information and Communication in Rabat, after an initial background in French literature at Ibn Tofail University in Kenitra, complemented by technical training in computer networks at the Specialized Institute of Applied Technology in Sidi Kacem. A film critic,recognized as a young voice in film criticism since winning the Grand Prize for Film Criticism at the Tasmit Festival of Cinema and Criticism in Béni Mellal in 2017. Member of the Moroccan Association of Film Critics since 2018, with participation in national and international juries including the FIPRESCI Jury at the 28th Rabat International Auteur Film Festival in 2023 and the FACC Jury at FESPACO in Burkina Faso in 2021. Currently active within both FIPRESCI and FACC, and featured in the Dictionary of Women in Cinema and Audiovisual in Morocco – Volume 1 (2024). Experienced in programming and festival coordination, notably at the Agadir International Cinema and Migration Festival, serving as Program Director and Head of Public Relations and Communication during its 20th edition in 2024. Responsibilities included film selection focused on migration narratives and managing communication with media, partners, and guests. Founder and President of the Cultures & Migrations Association in Sidi Kacem (since 2022), which works under the motto “Culture for All!” to promote cultural exchange and human values. Initiator of the ABCDAIRE project (2024), supported by the National Initiative for Human Development, offering cultural and artistic workshops for children, women, and youth. Co-founder of the BADRE Association for supporting cancer patients in Sidi Kacem and member of the Moroccan Network of Migration Journalists since 2019. Expertise in cinema, migration, and culture is also reflected through regular contributions to television, radio, and digital platforms, providing critical insights and analysis. This multifaceted engagement affirms a position as an active academic and cultural voice in Morocco, the Arab world, and internationally.
